Database

The videos from the APIDIS database are available using the following link: http://www.apidis.org/Dataset/. A 1 minute long ground truth annotation of players and ball location in each camera view is also provided.

Calibration data is available under different forms. It is up to the authors to decide wheter they want to use it. (The accuracy of the provided calibration results is not guaranteed.)
  • Metrics of a set of reference points on the basket court (and some shots of chessboard calibration patterns) are available on http://www.apidis.org/Dataset/.
  • The following package contains several matlab files related to the calibration of the Apidis cameras: Metrics of the reference points; Coordinates of manually located reference points in each of the seven views; Estimated parameters of radial distortions and functions to correct the radial distortions and build lookup tables for the images; Estimated K, [R T] calibration matrices which link the undistorted image planes with the court reference system: CalibApidis.tar

For digits recognition, manualy segmented player numbers are available on http://thetis.tele.ucl.ac.be/Apidis/Public/Numbers .

Evaluation metrics

  • Player detection: The positions of the deteced players should be provided in the court coordinate system. See the matlab file in the following package to see how we plan to evaluate missed detections rate and false detections rate. Apidis_Challenge_evaluation.tgz (Groundtruth update v.2: July 22 2009).
